Open since 2006, this one-of-a-kind national park on the edge of the canyon of the Río Chicamocha is home to countless attractions. Some of them are spectacular; some of them are unnecessary. First, the spectacular: The mirador and its dramatic view of the canyon below are only topped by the 6.3km teleférico (cable car) that runs to the base of the canyon and up to the top of the opposing rim. You can also go paragliding here over the canyon (COP$180,000 per 20–30 min.), though you’ll find better prices from agencies in San Gil. Much of the rest of the park attractions can be skipped: the waterpark, ostrich farm, 4D theater, and dune-buggy rides. There are several restaurants on site.
