In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful churches in Budapest, an icon in the center of the historic Castle District. This church is a neo-Gothic classic, named after Matthias Corvinus, the Renaissance king who was married here. King Béla and his queen are buried here. Much to the dismay of many, the church is undergoing major renovations, which will last incredibly until 2012 if the schedule is kept. Much of it is under scaffolding at all times. However, the church is a key location for excellent organ recitals, sacred music concerts for a cappella choir, orchestras, and folk concerts at times throughout the year. Ticket prices vary widely based on the offering, so the prices here are just a guideline. The ticket office is open Wednesday through Sunday 1pm to 5:30pm.
