These cruises cost $12 for adults and $6 for children 3 to 12; dinner cruises ($45) are also available. At Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino, 1650 S. Casino Dr., Laughlin (tel. 800/227-3849 or 702/298-2535), you can take a tour on the 65-foot USS Riverside to Davis Dam. These excursions last 80 minutes and cost $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 3 to 12.

If you’d rather look at natural surroundings than casino towers, consider booking a 6-hour jet-boat tour through scenic Topock Gorge, a 15-mile stretch of river bordered by multicolored cliffs, to the London Bridge with London Bridge Jet Boat Tours (tel. 888/505-3545 or 702/298-5498). Tours cost $70 for adults and $50 for children 12 and under. Tours don’t operate in December or January.
