Located southwest of Buyeo, near Nonsan, this temple has one of the country's most unusual Buddha statues. Dating from the Goryeo period, the Eunjin Mireuk (the Maitreya Buddha of Eunjin) has a small body, a large head, and a flat mortarboard-like hat on top of its headpiece with wind chimes hanging from its four corners. Standing at 18m (59 ft.), it's the largest Buddha statue dating that far back.
