Grand in style as well as size, this all-suite luxury resort is not only the very definition of elegance, it also commands Cancun's best view: a 270-degree sweep of the meeting of thrashing Caribbean waves and Bahía de Mujeres' placid waters, with Isla Mujeres in the distance. The building's blocky, salmon-colored exterior is a bit jarring among its more understated neighbors, but the expansive interior gleams with marble and is bathed in natural light. Suites, all remodeled in 2013, sport white marble floors and a serene combination of sand and sea colors. Junior suites, with either a king or two full-size beds, have sunken sitting areas; the 860-sq.-ft. master suites, all with king-size beds, include two vanities and a Jacuzzi. All have ocean views and balconies. Another welcome change is that Wi-Fi is now free throughout the resort. The calm ocean waters compete with a multi-tiered pool, stretching the length of the hotel and featuring waterfalls, fountains, and swim-up bars. The Gem Spa boasts the only complete 10-step hydrotherapy program in Latin America, and a kids' club provides daily activities such as crafts, games, building sand castles, and hunting seashells. The remodel also created an oceanfront terrace just for weddings.
