Best known for its wood-fired pizzas, this patio restaurant-bar and pizzeria is a locals’ as well as tourists’ favorite that has been turning out consistently good Italian food downtown since 1979. In addition to 20 kinds of pizza, from a simple margarita to an exotic smoked salmon with pomodoro and formaggio cheese, the menu offers calzone packed with fresh asparagus, mushrooms, ham or seafood and coated in olive oil, homemade veal ravioli, and 14 other pastas. Tender chicken, rib-eye steak and a variety of shrimp and seafood dishes also come of the oven. Though veal cheeks and pizza piled high with seafood are expensive, the rest of the menu falls into the moderate range. Rolandi’s also has branches in Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, and Playa del Carmen.
