Although there are no major clubs or discos, the surfers, backpackers, and Quito vacationers like to party here in Canoa. Most of the action centers on the few open-air bars near the center of town, which include Coco Bar, the Surf Shak, and Coco Loco. Ask around town to find out what's going on, or simply walk until you find something that suits you. One place that regularly gets folks dancing is the Shamrock Dance Bar, which takes up two floors of a three-story building right on the beachfront in the center of town.
