Getting There

If you're driving from London, take the A2, and then the M2. Canterbury is signposted all the way. The city center is closed to cars, but it's only a short walk from several parking areas to the cathedral.

Visitor Information

A few doors from St. Margaret's Church, the Canterbury Tourist Information Centre, 12-13 Sun St., Canterbury CT1 2HX (tel. 01227/378100; www.canterbury.co.uk), is generally open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm (closes at 4pm off-season).

Getting Around by Bike -- Using your credit card as a security deposit, you can also arrange rentals at Downland Cycle Hire, St. Stephens Rd. (tel. 01227/479643; www.downlandcycles.co.uk), which charges from £12 per day.
