A series of adjoining two-level Victorian houses was converted into this chic little guesthouse by a group of friends. They decorated it with good-quality African art, crafts, and fabrics, ensuring it comes across feeling perfectly homey and comfortable, while not being cluttered. Excellent value and a great central location that's a little out of the fray make An African Villa a stand-out. Bedrooms are well-proportioned and handsomely put together in pale, earthy hues, with lots of raw, natural textures that remind you where you are. Upstairs rooms with Table Mountain views are a popular choice, while street-facing units are more spacious. There's a big, accessible kitchen with an honor bar system, and public areas that lead to an enclosed courtyard. The small pool and sun loungers there are perfect for the recovery interval between the beach and a night on the town.
