Attention to detail extends to everything in this impeccably designed corner of sociability, tucked away on De Waterkant's Hudson Street. Coffee is blended and roasted by Espressolab in Woodstock, and only the finest local and sustainable ingredients go into the breakfasts and light meals. A compact menu favors chicken  sandwiches with a choice of sourdough and rye breads, and there is one mean burger, served with a side of truffle-salted fries. Check the wall menu for a short list of fresh-blended vegetable and fruit juices (named according to their color), plus a handpicked list of Cape wines, and locally fermented craft beers available on tap or in the bottle. Thursdays run late for burger night, with an old-fashioned glass of milk to wash it down (you can sink a beer instead, of course). When you've done eating and drinking, head to Loading Bay's clothing boutique, up just a couple of steps, where owner Jon-Paul Bolus will help you find Cape Town's most comfortable pair of jeans. Or head on up to the next level to browse a range of Aesop toiletries.
