Getting Here -- National Harbor is accessible with its own ramps off I-95/495 and I-295 on the Maryland side of the Potomac.
Metrobus (tel. 202/637-7000; www.metroopensdoors.com) service will take visitors from bus stops at the Oxon Hill Park and Ride Lot off Route 210. Buses run 20 to 30 minutes every day on the NH1 Line. Fare is $1.35 one-way.
The Water Taxi, operated by Potomac Riverboat Company (tel. 703/684-0580; www.potomacriverboatco.com), takes passengers between the Gaylord complex, the main National Harbor dock, and Old Town Alexandria. Boats depart about every hour May through October with abbreviated schedules November and December. The fare is $8. Additional taxis go to Georgetown, daily May through October and weekends off-season. The fare is $16.
Getting Around -- National Harbor is designed for walking. Park your car in one of the huge garages or paid lots and forget about it. Garages are clearly marked with entrances on Fleet Street and Mariner Passage. Other parking is available on the fringes of the development.
