The sit-down meal options listed are best at dinnertime. Since there's so much hiking and boating to be done during the day, an essential element of the Capraia experience is the picnic lunch. Stop for supplies at the forno (bakery, on the road between the port and town), whose schiacciate (similar to focaccia, and topped with cheese and other ingredients) are to die for. Capraia also has three alimentari (small grocery stores: Two are along the same road between port and town; one is at the port). Pick up several bottles of water before setting out on a day's expedition by land or sea.
