Founded in 1993 by Chilean businessman Juan Cuneo Solari, this boutique winery produces just 70,000 cases of wine a year and provides a more intimate approach to oenotourism. Located just 12 miles from the Pacific, the winery is widely applauded for its delicious and crisp sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. Although the house specialty is white wine, their creative winemaking team was the first in the valley to plant merlot. Also in their red wine repertoire is a fresh, peppery syrah that is worth a sip. Reservations are necessary for tours of the winery, which can be customized: $10 (£6.70) per person for the basic tour, $15 (£10) per person for a visit to the vineyard lookout point for a tasting and appetizer; there are also horse-drawn carriage rides. Or, you can simply stop off at their sleek Tanino restaurant which offers a course tasting menu paired with wine.
