This sweet little cottage tearoom is cozy and welcoming inside, with a turf-burning stove and the day’s menu chalked onto blackboards behind the counter. But you’ll want to sit outside if the weather allows, because the view from the garden over lush green fields to Ballintoy Harbour is stunning. They serve tempting, fresh cakes and desserts, so dig into the delicious Victoria sponge cake (two layers, separated by jam and cream). It also serves good light lunches if you want something a little more substantial. Salads, soups, bagels, sandwiches, or plates of tasty fresh fish are all good. It all adds up to a welcome and idyllic rest stop along the Antrim coast road. Although officially the Red Door closes at 5pm, you may find it open into the evening on busy days in summer.
