  QantasLink (book through Qantas  tel. 13 13 13 in Australia; www.qantas.com.au) and Virgin Australia (  tel. 13 67 89 in Australia; www.virginaustalia.com.au) both have daily flights from Brisbane and Sydney. A courtesy coach meets flights from Brisbane (with connections from other cities) at Gladstone airport at 10am to take guests to Gladstone Marina for the launch transfer to the island .

By Train

  Queensland Rail (tel. 1800/872 467 in Queensland; www.queenslandrail.com.au) operates trains to Gladstone from Brisbane and Cairns most days. The economy fare from Brisbane is A$89 on the high-speed Tilt Train (trip time: 6 hr.) or A$119 on the Sunlander (trip time: 9 1/2 hr.).

By Bus

  Greyhound Australia (tel. 1300/473 946 in Australia; www.greyhound.com.au) operates daily coaches to Gladstone on the Brisbane-Cairns run. The fare is A$143 from Brisbane (trip time: 10 1/2 hr.), A$201 from Cairns (trip time: 20 hr.).The Capricorn Coast

Getting There  A 170-seater launch departs Gladstone Marina, Bryan Jordan Drive, at 11am daily (except Christmas Day). Transfers cost A$100 one-way for adults, half-price for kids 2 to 12. Trip time is around 2 hours. Helicopter transfers can also be arranged.
