These hotel listings offer a choice of the best the Çesme area has to offer. If you opt for one of the hotels in Çesme town (infrequently known also as Çesmealti), you'll be trading beach access for convenience to the town center, which offers everything including car rentals, travel agencies, restaurants, and cafes. The buzz of visitors along the pedestrian main drag out for the evening air also offers the people-watching you won't get in the other villages on the peninsula. Second to Çesme as to level of activity is Ilica, with the longest, if not one of the nicest stretches of sand around. The tiny village and cove of Dalyan has little more than a postcard-perfect marina lined with delectable fish restaurants; to get around, you'll either have to rely on the services of the hotel concierge, or rustle up some authentic assistance by haggling at the marina. Alaçati Bay is the site of development, but for now, the hotel scene (apart from the new Port Hotel at the new marina and the lovely Süzer Sun Dreams) is still the purview of adventure-seeking windsurfers.
