Old-school, formal dining at its very best, with wood-paneled walls and crisp, white tablecloths. Chef Michelle Weaver’s menus are work of arts. Dishes are creatively divided into four types: Pure (lighter dishes), Lush (richer meats and seafood), Cosmopolitan (inspired by global cuisines), and Southern (contemporary riffs on regional classics). The food is simply exquisite. Start the meal with a light octopus salad or seared foie gras, before sampling the Southern-fried catfish or venison tenderloin. The lounge section is far more relaxed, with comfy couches and a bar menu of cocktails and snacks, though you can also have dinner here (same menu as the dining room). Every night top-notch musicians—from classical trios to Brazilian jazz combos—serenade diners.
