Planning a trip to Chelm

Chelm's helpful tourist information office (Lubelska 63; tel. 82/565-36-67; www.itchelm.pl) is on the main street, Lubelska, which runs through the center of the Old Town. The entrance to the chalk mine is a 3-minute walk from the tourist office. The office has free walking maps of the city, as well as a few scattered brochures available in English on Chelm's history and attractions.
