When this museum opened in 2015, it cemented Chiang Mai’s status as the art capital of Thailand. Today, it is a creative home for the new wave of artists who call Chiang Mai home and are working diligently to make the city an artists’ haven. The museum is housed in an old warehouse and a mirrored façade gives way to bright gallery rooms housing 50 pieces in a permanent collection, including photography installations, artistic takes on politics and culture, splashy paintings, and more. TED-style talks and lectures are regularly on rotation here. The café and gift shop are worth visiting.
