The hotel makes a striking impression on guests who are immediately greeted by a palm tree-lined pool and an indigenous, century-old rain tree; as the name states, it’s all very romantic. Rooms are spread among six residences that harken back, in their design, to the Lanna-Colonial period of 19th century. The result is rooms with a harmonious blend of Thai teak wood, rattan made by local artisans, Lanna art, and crisp colonial touches. Upper level rooms have private balconies, and a lovely breakfast (don’t miss the homemade jams) is served in a tranquil setting overlooking the Ping River.
