The River House is a leafy campus just across the river from town, with loaner bikes and a free shuttle available for guests. Set around a large pool flanked by laughing elephant sculptures, rooms here feature wooden built-ins, furniture, and flooring, meaning that it feels very Thai—though it is all a bit dated, unfortunately. Still, the 39 rooms are all well maintained and roomy, and the views from the second-floor rooms overlook farmers’ fields and the riverside. There are also a few more basic cottages on the grounds, surrounded by greenery. The resort has a full-service spa for Thai-style pampering.
