It seems there’s an eco-friendly story behind everything you touch at the Hotel Felix, from the lobby carpeting and wallpaper made from recycled materials, to the guest room and gym floors made from plastic bottles, to the cleaning products used, which don’t include any bleach. At the same time, the hotel pays close attention to making those sustainable design principles visually appealing, and the lobby is a great example, with a fireplace, fountain, and fun blown glass globes that artfully dangle from the ceiling. Yes, the rooms are quite small at this Silver LEED-certified hotel, as are the bathrooms, but perhaps guests here are more interested in protecting the environment, not taking up more of it. A small spa and fitness center are on site if you want to get even more Zen.
