This is about as close as it gets to living local while also having access to the perks of a hotel. The Majestic is on a residential street, less than a block from Belmont Harbor and the lake, and less than a mile from Wrigley Field. The building looks like a typical Chicago apartment for a reason: It once served as a house for women and children who’d lost their husbands and fathers in World War I. Because of its residential location, the hotel is popular with relatives visiting family nearby. Rooms and suites were renovated, and some suites even have a small sunroom to sit in and watch the neighborhood outside. Continental breakfast is included. Parking is inexpensive compared to downtown hotels: It’s $22 to park in a nearby lot. The Majestic shares the same owners as City Suites and The Willows.
