This nonprofit group screens independent and experimental films from around the world at its modest Cinematheque Theatre. Its collection of children’s films is the most extensive in the U.S., and it also hosts the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival (Oct/Nov), the oldest and largest such festival in the country. In old-school fashion, you can even rent artsy DVDs here.
