The “Cheers” of the neighborhood, this tiny but comfortable neighborhood dive bar has been a lesbian (and gay and hetero) favorite since owners Judi and Rose opened it in 1978. Grab a bucket of beers, some darts, and settle in for an evening with friendly regulars. If the bartender doesn’t know your name when you arrive, she will by the time you leave. The Closet is an estrogen-rich change of scenery from the boy-sterous bars nearby, and the tiny dance floor here really gets going on weekends. The bar is open until 4am nightly and 5am Saturdays. Bring cash; bartenders will frown at your credit card.
