This mid-century modern style lounge, located on the second floor of the Langham, has cozy, curvy couches, comfortable lounge chairs, dim lighting, and an air of sexy chic. Nestled in the former IBM building, a landmark designed by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the lounge is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that look out at the neighboring Marina Towers and the Chicago River. The Langham opened quietly in 2013, and many locals have yet to discover this beautiful bar, and, selfishly, I hope it stays that way so I can reliably score a seat. Stop in Thursday through Saturday for live music.
