Groovy looks (love the muralled walls), perfectly crisp (and surprisingly greaseless) chicken and a soundtrack of alternative music mixed happy undergruate chatter (the restaurant is right off Northwestern University's campus):those elements would be enough to make this counter-service eatery a hit. But the owners have gone a bit farther and accompany their fried chilcken—nuggets, breasts or wings—with an array of tangy sauces, many of which have a nice spice kick; and some of the most temptingly thick but not cloyingly sweet milkshakes around. If you're looking for a place for a quick bite—and don't have to report in to your cardiologist—Arlen's should do the trick.
