I tend to get a little nervous when I enter Saks. Am I stylish enough to get their attention, or will I feel snubbed? So far, so good, at least at Chicago’s Magnificent Mile outpost. Despite the luxury appeal of the store, in my experience, the sales associates are actually quite outgoing and personable, even if you’re just browsing. The seven-level store is filled with luxury name brands, each in their own designated section: Prada, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, and on and on and on. Women’s items fill floors one through five—cosmetics, accessories, shoes, fashion—while men get the top two floors. More than anything, Saks is known for its personalized service, so if you have a question or you’re looking for an opinion, don’t be afraid to ask.
