You won't find fine dining here but you will be served seafood fresh from the boat. The famous Chincoteague oysters are harvested September to March. The area is also known for flounder, caught year-round. Most Chincoteague restaurants, however, are seasonal operations and close from October until Easter weekend the following spring.

Also open year-round are the venerable Bill's Seafood Restaurant, 4040 Main St. (tel. 757/336-5831), which opens daily at 5am to feed breakfast to the watermen headed to work, and Don's Seafood Restaurant and Chattie's Lounge, 4113 Main St. (tel. 747/336-5715), which opens daily at 7am. Don's upstairs Chattie's Lounge has live or DJ music on weekend nights.
