There are maybe a dozen hotels in Choluteca. While none of them are going to knock your socks off, all of them are comfortable and a decent value. Hotel Gualiqueme (tel. 504/2782-2750; www.hotelgualiqueme.hn; L1,522 double), just across the suspension bridge right before you get into town, is the largest and has the most amenities. There are tile-floored rooms equipped with A/C, cable TV, and Wi-Fi. There's a nice pool on the grounds, plenty of trees and gardens, a bar, and a full-service restaurant. Hand-carved woodwork features prominently throughout the property.
The hotels in town are simpler, including the cozy Hotel Bonsai (1 block south of Parque Central; tel. 504/2782-2648; L350 double), which has a few air-conditioned rooms that surround a small courtyard.
