Soyang-ho (Lake Soyang) and Soyang Dam

Built in 1973, the Soyang Dam is the largest rock-filled dam in Asia. Although it used to be a beautiful area for boating, the lowered water level, recent floods, and erosion have caused the surrounding hills to lose much of their former beauty. The valleys around the lake are well known for smelt fishing in the winter.

• Prices: Free admission to the lake, but the ferry costs W10,000 for everyone over 6
• Transportation: From Chuncheon Train Station, take bus no. 12-1 or take local bus no. 11 from the Namchuncheon Station. From the Intercity Bus Terminal, take local bus no. 10 or 11 to Soyang Dam. A taxi from Chuncheon Station takes 15 min
