The sixth-largest island in the country is located about 30km (19 miles) from Taean. Originally a waterway created to help transport ships during the Joseon era, it became an artificially made island. A bridge built in 1970 connects it to Nammyeon on the peninsula. There are 16 beaches on the island's coast as well as a plethora of pine trees (called anmyeonsong that only grow here) near the beaches and in Anmyeon-do National Forest, located in the center of the island. The island is one of the best places in the country to watch the sunset, and Kkotji Beach is the best on the island, because of its cute bridge and rock formations.

There is a small seafood marketplace, Baeksajang, just up the road from Kkotji Beach, where you can choose fish, crustaceans, or shellfish from a variety of burbling tanks. They'll cook your fresh catch, slice it raw, or fire up the tabletop grill so you can cook it yourself. I recommend getting fresh shrimp, which you can cook on a bed of sea salt over hot coals.
