Housed in an 18th-century armory with underground exhibition spaces within the Old Town's ramparts, this contemporary art museum -- due to reopen in late 2012 after closing for renovation -- contains notable works by a handful of famed contemporary Spanish artists, including the recently deceased Catalan painter Antoni Tàpies. Its collection of works by lesser-known artists from the Balearic Islands points to the artistic flourishing and presence of artists on Ibiza in the 1960s and 1970s.
