Seasonal Events in Cochem

Both a hotel and a wine restaurant, Alte Thorschenke, Brückenstrasse 3, 56812 Cochem (tel. 02671/7059; 84€–105€ double w/breakfast), is one of the oldest and best-known establishments along the Mosel. The half-timbered structure, originally built in 1332, added a modern wing and became a35-room hotel in 1960.

For a fine meal, drive to Enterttal, 1.6km (1 mile) northwest of Cochem, and dine at Weissmühle im Enterttal, Endertstrasse 1 (tel. 02671/8955; main courses 15€–25€; daily noon–2pm and 6–9pm). Try the trademark dish of fresh trout stuffed with herbs, baked, and kept warm at your table with a hot stone.

Getting There

By Train

By Bus

Regional bus service along the Mosel is provided by RMV Rhein Mosel Verkehrsgesellschaft (tel. 01805/7684636; www.bahn.de) and by Moselbahn, GmbH (tel. 06531/96800; www.moselbahn.de).

By Car

Access is via the A48 Autobahn on the Koblenz-Trier express highway; exit either at Ulmen or at Kaisersesch.

By Boat
