Leave the beachwear and flipflops for restaurants at the Cove and Pier and put on something decent—not fancy—for this strip mall spot specializing in locally sourced seafood. Owned by a husband-and-wife team with years of hospitality experience, Florida’s Fresh Grill does very well with crowd pleasing dishes like beer battered tropical coconut shrimp and “sea to table” grilled fish topped with your choice of mango salsa, lemon butter, lemon caper butter, teriyaki glaze, or our fave, jalapeno bacon cream sauce. All are served with a choice of two sides. There are also steaks, burgers, pasta, salads, and what some say is the best key lime pie in town. They also happen to have an excellent martini and cocktail list and a lively locals’ bar scene, especially during the daily happy hour from 4:30 to 6pm (serious food and drink specials).
