The city's largest park is famed for its beautiful flowering trees in spring. An idyllic place to take a stroll or enjoy a picnic, the park also has ponds, Buddha statues, and even the occasional elephant to discover. On Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha road, which cuts through the southern end of the park, 20 to 30 local artists exhibit their paintings on Sundays—a great place to pick up an original work of art.
