This port is a favorite of painters, who never tire of capturing the subtleties of the fishing fleet. It’s also unique among the larger coastal communities because fishing, not tourism, is its main industry (Concarneau’s canneries produce most of the tuna in France). Walk along the quays, especially in the evening, and watch the Breton fishers unload their catch; later, join them for a pint of cider in the taverns.
