The Anglers Return
Surrounded by beautiful gardens, this lovely, artsy retreat was built as a hunting lodge in the 19th century; today it’s run with great charm by Lynn Hill, a talented artist. Bedrooms are simple and modestly sized, furnished with antiques. The views over the grounds and nearby river are gorgeous. Two of the rooms are ensuite; the others have the use of one of two bathrooms located down the corridor—and robes are thoughtfully provided. You can cook your own dinner in the newly outfitted kitchen or on the grills outside. Guests are free to wander the gardens, which are practically an attraction by themselves. Those wanting more seclusion, and a touch of adventure, may want to rent the yurt on the grounds. The Anglers Return doesn’t accept credit cards; it’s cash or check only around here.
