This Greek Revival-style church features Bertel Thorvaldsen's white marble neoclassical works, including Christ and the Apostles. The funeral of H. C. Andersen took place here in 1875, and that of Søren Kierkegaard in 1855. The inetrior is a thing of austere beauty. To boot, the surrounding square, Vor Frue Plads, harbors the Copenhagen University (founded 1479) and is easily one of the most well-preserved and beautiful squares in the Old Town.
