The Amistad is literally part of the city—a portion of its back wall is built right into the walls of Córdoba's old city. In the often familiar pattern of historic lodgings, architects combined two 18th-century mansions to make a gracious hotel, and later added another building across the Plaza de Maimónides for suites. In contrast with the historic Mudéjar-style patio at the heart of the property, the generally spacious rooms are decorated in clean-lined modern style of dark woods and richly colored fabrics.
