Tal-Wi-Wi Lodge
Four miles north of Alpine on U.S. 191, Tal-Wi-Wi Lodge is nothing fancy—just a rustic lodge popular with anglers and hunters—but it’s a good choice in an area with few options. Five deluxe rooms, located in a new building, have gas fireplaces; two have hot tubs. In both buildings, furnishings are rustic yet comfortable, with wood-paneled walls and large front porches. The lodge’s new fitness center is the best gym in the area. The dining room serves country breakfasts and dinners. The lodge is closed mid-October to mid-April.
