The clue’s in the name at this small and friendly hotel in Doolin: The house has a glorious view across 100 acres of rolling green farmland and icy blue sea, out to the fog-wreathed Aran Islands in the distance. The Georgian country house was built in the mid-18th century and later expanded, and its good-size guest rooms maintain a traditional feel. The lounge wisely takes full advantage of the amazing view out front, making this a lovely spot for an early evening pint as the sun goes down. Breakfasts are good and fresh in the beautiful, vaulted-ceiling dining room. Doolin is about a 10-minute drive up the coast from the Cliffs of Moher.
