This is the ideal place to start if you’re in the region checking out your roots. The extensive records available to view here include church registers (Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, and others); registers of births, marriages, and deaths; estate and probate records; property leases and rent rolls; school registers; emigrant rolls; and census records. Research fees, with their expert genealogists, range from €30 for a basic search (best suited to those who are just starting out with their research, or don’t already know much about their family tree), to more extensive searches, including full reports, which cost anything from €95 to €150 and take several weeks to finish. The on-site museum displays a somewhat random collection of historic farm equipment and household items from the early to mid-20th century. The Enniscoe Gardens are directly next door and combined tickets are available.
