A pleasant little park surrounds this convenient, cheap-ish hotel in Sligo Town. Guest rooms are simply furnished in a contemporary style, with muted color schemes of gray and brown, and good-size bathrooms. One or two rooms could do with some TLC around the edges, though the public areas are sleek and well-designed. Family rooms only cost a little more than doubles. This hotel won’t win any awards for heart-of-Ireland atmosphere, but as a clean, modern base, it’s a good option in a region that’s short on choice. One word of caution: The hotel is also a popular venue for weddings and other events, so noise can sometimes be a problem on weekends. You might want to ask for a room as far away from the bar as possible.
