Dundrum House Hotel
Another fine Georgian house hotel—this one’s about 10km (10 miles) northwest of the town—Dundrum House is surrounded by verdant green hills and pretty gardens. Large guestrooms have countryside views; some have iron-framed four-poster beds. Family rooms are exceptionally good value here, sleeping up to four for around €100 per night. Very good deals can also be had on dinner and bed and breakfast packages by booking online. Two- and 3-bedroom self-catering cottages and apartments are decently priced too, at between €520 and €655 per week. Lady Clementine’s Restaurant serves upmarket bistro fare made with plenty of local produce. Make sure you stay for a drink in the bar—it’s set in the house’s original chapel.
