Taxi drivers charge 800 pesos for a 3-hour tour of the island, which most people would consider only mildly amusing, depending on the driver's personality. The best horseback tours are offered at Rancho Palmitas (no phone), on the Costera Sur highway, across from the Occidental Cozumel resort. Rides can be from 1 to 2 1/2 hours long and cost about 350 pesos.
