Food is generally good in Dawson City and, considering the isolation and transport costs, not too expensive. The Downtown and Eldorado hotels both have good dining rooms and are open for three meals a day. Many restaurants close in winter or keep shorter hours. The River West Bistro (Front and Queen sts.; tel. 867/993-6339) is the hub of the town, with excellent baked goods and espresso drinks in the morning, and burgers and sandwiches available the rest of the day. It's open 7am to 8pm Monday through Friday, and 8am to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.
