Lilian Place Heritage Center

This restored Victorian is the original home of one of the founding families of Daytona and the home where Red Badge of Courage author Stephen Crane recovered when his boat sank off the nearby cast in 1896. Locals say Crane makes all sorts of spirited visits to the home, which is now a museum complex which includes the historic Hotchkiss House, a cultural events site. Thirty-minute tours of Lilian Place are given Wednesday through Sunday from 1pm to 4pm; afternoon teas at Hotchkiss House are from 2pm to 4pm on the third Tuesday and last Sunday of each month ($31.95 per person).
