A thoroughly charming old family lodge that originally opened in the 1940s, Goose Cove fell on hard times in the aughts, floundered, then was revived when chef Devin Finigan moved her Stonington restaurant into its main lodge building in 2019. The nine old housekeeping cabins have since been fixed up with new furniture, bedding, art, and a whole lot of white paint. They’re bright and airy, tasteful and simple. Most sleep two, a pair have room for four, and most have decks. Four “suites” in the main lodge building (three, really, as the Barnacle Suite is just a single with a queen bed) are adjacent to the restaurant and share its large deck with ocean views. Everybody shares access to the private beach on the cove and trails that wind through the 22-acre property.
