The Brooklin Inn
This 1920s bungalow in the heart of bucolic, peninsular Brooklin, some 10 miles east of the Deer Isle Bridge, is unassuming on the outside. Inside, the cute boutique inn is a tasteful farmhouse out of a Wyeth painting, full of old wood, fresh flowers, and lovely, understated contemporary art. Rooms are spartan but airy, filled with light and rustic-mod fixtures. Guests share access to a private second-floor deck, while the cozy farm-to-table restaurant and bar downstairs are open to the public. There’s a bocce court and fire pit on the big back lawn, where the innkeepers also host wood-fired pizza nights in the summer. Morning pastries, from Deer Isle’s Milkweed & Monarch Baking Co., are incredible. For any other needs, the town general store is just down the street.
Pets are welcome ($50 fee).
